Blanquita “Babes” Pelaez – the next Senate witness. Although the people already know that Senate hearings and Senate witnesses are just mere hogwash to make it look that Senators are working to justify the taxes being allotted to them, such lame people especially from the camp of Sen Panfilo Lacson has never got tired of producing witnesses for their mock investigations to discredit the administration. Products of the Ping Lacson Academy for False Witnesses remarkably produced top-caliber liars from the likes of Jun Lozada et al.. However, the new candidate in the name of Blanquita “Babes” Pelaez is seems to be like an odd since she was the Senator’s mortal enemy when she started to pin down Sen Lacson way back in 1996 when both of them bungled up in a handcuff deal. Now, who really is Blanquita “Babes” Pelaez?
Blanquita “Babes” Pelaez is a known social climber who filed a case against Sen Lacson in the United States after the latter filed damages arising from the 1996 handcuffs supply contract she had with the Philippine National Police. Pelaez claimed Lacson blocked the payment for handcuffs contract after she refused to follow Lacson’s order to fabricate charges against three former government top brass including Robert Barbers, Epimaco Velasco and Ronaldo Puno and 123 PNP officers whom he considered as enemies. During the time Pelaez was making noises against Lacson, she divulged several things which she claimed to be information she gathered to prove that Lacson was wealthy enough to pay for the damages incurred against her. Years ago Pelaez said she came to the Philippines to belie Lacson’s statements that he won the case against her after California Superior Court Judge James Richman, in a ruling dated 19 Aug 2003, set aside the default judgment amounting to $3 million for lost wages and damages which a lower court awarded her on 19 Jan 2003 after Lacson failed to appear before the US Court. Richman merely remanded the case to the Alameda Country court to determine the correct payment for the contract, as he rejected Lacson’s argument that he is not under the jurisdiction of the US Courts. Pelaez explained that because of this, she has returned to the country to gather evidence on Lacson’s properties so she could show the US Court that the senator is financially capable to abide by a court order for her compensation. Pelaez showed photographs of Lacson’s houses in Parañaque and Ayala, Alabang in Muntinlupa City. She said she also got hold of Lacson’s statement of assets and liabilities for the year 2002, and noted that two of the houses Lacson allegedly owns and the US bank accounts were not reflected in it. Pelaez submitted documents allegedly showing that Lacson’s wife had an account at the California’s branch of the Bank of American totaling $ 456,000. Mrs Lacson supposedly used the funds from this account to purchase Toyota Sequoia SUVs for $50,000 each in December 2000. The document also showed that Lacson himself allegedly opened several bank accounts in his own name at the Bank of American branch in Chula Vista, California, which in October had a balance of $285,133. Pelaez made a great deal of enemy on Lacson after she spilled the beans on Lacsons assets… and from the looks of it, such amount of wealth is a far cry from his status as a PNP top brass. Questionable source maybe… In any case, Lacson’s questionable assets and being brought out in the public doesn’t make Pelaez a protagonist since she herself was dipped in the mud after Judge Winlove M. Dumayas of the Branch 58 Makati Regional Trial Court handed a guilty verdict of estafa on her after a fraudulent representation to procure night vision equipment for the Philippine Navy.

Now, with that kind of Pelaez’s credibility, why on earth would Lacson be willing to adopt her in the Ping Academy for False Witnesses? Perhaps Lacson saw in his former enemy the degree of damaged she had inflicted against him, making him think that Pelaez will make a good ammunition in his drive to put down the administration by discrediting it thru fabricated irregularities. In past accounts, Pelaez is a professional liar, basing it on the conviction handed to her by the Judge Dumayas. At the same time, she is also an expert in gathering data and using it against her targets, similar to what she has done to slap Lacson in the US court. Such kind of personality can damage a whole nation especially if she will be facing a Senate investigating panel on national TV. And that kind of eventuality is what Lacson wants to erode the present administration. By now, it can be assumed that Pelaez is attending her class at the Ping Academy, learning how to perfect her talent in lying and fabricating allegations to be ready in the Senate investigation. All Lacson now need to do is to find a certain issue that will fit Pelaez’s credence. Lacson may probably put her in the rice shortage issue, Spratly issue or the NBN deal anomalies.
